To support this continuous growth, VMG is adding a Manufacturing Worker to its team. In this role, the Manufacturing Worker will be responsible for fabricating, building, and assembling HVAC sheet metal and ductwork within a production environment, ensuring that all materials are prepared accurately and efficiently for installation at commercial job sites.
Requirements
- Ability to complete sheet metal fabrication projects with accuracy and precision.
- Proficient in safely using sheet metal tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Strong measuring, multitasking, and time-management skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a production-driven environment.
- Basic knowledge of: HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair practices.
- Basic knowledge of: HVAC tools, equipment, and mechanical systems.
- Basic knowledge of: Electrical and control systems related to HVAC.
- Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and organizational skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
- Comfortable working on ladders and at heights.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, ductwork orders, and schematics to fabricate required HVAC structures.
- Select appropriate materials based on job specifications and structural requirements.
- Measure, cut, bend, shape, and assemble sheet metal to precise dimensions.
- Weld, rivet, roll, solder, or fasten seams using screws or other approved methods.
- Perform assembly-line tasks such as punching holes, bending gutters, and preparing duct sections.
- Operate sheet metal fabrication machinery and related software applications safely and efficiently.
- Maintain production schedules and meet output demands.
- Coordinate equipment shutdowns and startups with other departments as needed.
- Maintain accurate records for projects and repairs.
- Keep a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
