About The Position

Challenger Lifts, Inc., a division of Snap-on is seeking a candidate that would be responsible for this dynamic, hands-on role and will provide support to maintenance, operations, and engineering. It will be responsible for working on, and occasionally leading, projects that will optimize processes and aid with driving efficiency, quality, and productivity.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a relevant field preferred but will accept equivalent experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication, machining, and process validation in manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process optimization techniques.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing specifications
  • Excellent communication skills, wand the ability to communicate with all levels of management.
  • Able to work in high-stress, fast-paced environment and have demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in a team environment and the ability to well work independently as well as in a diverse team.
  • Work flexible hours (i.e. overtime as required).
  • Must align with Snap-on mission statement
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which includes; Hi-Vis Vest, Steel Toe Shoes, Safety Glasses or Prescription Safety Glasses, Gloves, and Ear Plugs.
  • Must adhere to safety guidelines

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with CAD/CAM software, CNC programming, and/or robotic automation is preferred.
  • Welding and general fabrication skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside engineers, maintenance, operations, and operators to implement projects, new technologies, and assist optimizing processes.
  • Assist engineers, maintenance, and operations as required on special projects.
  • Fabricate components for various projects while working closely with engineering, operations, and maintenance. This includes regular use of various hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
  • Investigate manufacturing challenges and aid with corrective actions to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor and analyze manufacturing data to support decision-making and drive process improvements.
  • Develop and define programs and parameters for machining operations.
  • Analyze current manufacturing workflows and identify opportunities for improvement in cost, quality, and cycle time.
  • Coordinate and take a lead on managing various projects relating to maintenance and operations, including coordinating and communicating with contractors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
