About The Position

The Manufacturing Team Coach (MTC) is responsible for coordinating resources for the manufacturing department through the leadership of team members to complete assigned production tasks in safe manner. The MTC will lead the continuous improvement efforts of the departments 5’s initiatives and will be responsible for achieving Balanced Score Card goals. MTC will ensure that team member are trained to perform job duties and cross trained in more than one area to produce a quality work product. The MTC will Assist the Production Manager with reporting, leadership of Team Meetings, and be the point of contact for employee questions. This responsibility also includes resolution of operational issues on the shift. Additionally, if the Department Production Manager is absent, the MTC will provide coverage.

Requirements

  • Ability to present information and facilitate meetings with team members.
  • Ability to communicate departmental information and answer questions.
  • Provide performance feedback to team members.
  • Computer skills with the ability to learn to use email, Excel, M2M, reports and unipoint with support.
  • Basic interpersonal skills/ leadership skills
  • Additional training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that production operator completes assigned work in accordance with safety, production and quality guidelines.
  • Support achievement of Balanced Score Card objectives
  • Provide coaching and hold employees accountable for a high level of performance.
  • Champion 5’s initiatives and provide coaching and feedback for improvement.
  • Engage in 5’s audits in other departments to encourage continuous improvement.
  • Serve to resolve operational issues on the shift, calling for resource needs or functional input as required.
  • Complete performance reviews for team members and provide feedback and coaching.
  • Provide on the job skills training to ensure that employees are competent to perform job duties.
  • Perform the daily report-out within the department, provide reports to Production Manager as requested.
  • Act as the backup to the Production Mgr. in terms of assigning work and participation in required meetings or other operational report-outs.
  • Provide coverage for operators during breaks and lunch periods.
  • Support Process Engineers through hands-on project engagement.
  • Provide SME (subject matter expert) knowledge to PPS groups.
  • Maintains a good teamwork attitude.
  • Fully engaged in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in mentoring other operators within the department.
