This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. In coordinating all aspects of casting production, you will support various spaceflight programs in the production of engine parts with high-value and impeccable quality and on-time delivery. This position will directly influence the history of space exploration and will require your unwavering commitment and unfaltering focus towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Requirements

  • Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space!
  • 4 years minimum of management experience
  • 4 years minimum experience in casting
  • Experience building a high performing team.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing KPI’s to improve performance
  • Ability to maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of trust, respect, inclusion and integrity
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must have a continuous improvement attitude
  • Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years of manufacturing experience in aerospace, automotive or a closely related industry
  • Experience working in a foundry focused on highly engineered, high-quality castings and exceptional customer delivery performance as key drivers; investment casting preferred
  • Strong knowledge and applied experiences in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Toyota Production System
  • Experience operating in an AS9100 environment

Responsibilities

  • Supervise casting production personnel in day-to-day operations at our Blue Castings site in Arlington WA
  • Responsible for establishing workstation assignments, employee training, overtime assignments and back-up for absent employees
  • Maintain shop schedule status to ensure on-time delivery
  • Provide first level escalation support to employees regarding HR issues (employee relations, worker’s compensation, disciplinary actions, timecards, PTO requests)
  • Drive Continuous Improvement opportunities to improve process, reduce cycle and set-up times
  • Maintain shop measuring equipment calibration program ensuring all relative equipment is calibrated according to schedule
  • Implement and maintain 5S, ensuring a lean, clean and safe work environment
  • Ensure all team members follow work instructions, quality requirements and processes
  • Provide continued training and skills development for team members, mature cross-training matrix for coverage depth
  • Provide coaching and early career mentoring and conduct performance reviews
