About The Position

As a Manufacturing Quality Supervisor at Skydio, you’ll be responsible for overseeing end-to-end manufacturing quality across assembly and test operations for advanced autonomous hardware products. You will lead a team of quality inspectors and technicians, ensuring products meet internal specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This is a hands-on leadership role that partners closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Test to drive defect prevention, root cause resolution, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, high-reliability hardware environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading and developing quality teams in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to hire, onboard, train, coach, and retain high-performing quality personnel
  • Skilled at setting clear expectations, goals, and accountability
  • Experience conducting performance reviews and feedback conversations
  • Strong conflict-resolution and corrective coaching skills
  • Ability to balance people leadership with hands-on quality execution
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional partners
  • Comfortable leading through change, ambiguity, and rapid scale-up
  • Strong background in electromechanical hardware manufacturing quality
  • Working knowledge of RCA, CAPA, SPC, and FMEA
  • Experience with inspection, testing, and defect tracking systems
  • Comfortable using Jira, NetSuite, MES, Slack, and related tools
  • Detail-oriented with a prevention-focused quality mindset
  • Passion for continuous improvement and scalable quality systems

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day quality execution across assembly and test lines
  • Lead and develop a team of quality inspectors and technicians
  • Ensure adherence to approved processes, including SOPs, inspection plans, test procedures, and defect reporting systems
  • Monitor and analyze quality KPIs (yield, defect rates, escapes, rework) and drive corrective actions
  • Manage nonconforming material (NCRs), containment actions, and CAPA activities
  • Partner with Engineering on root cause analysis and corrective/preventive solutions
  • Escalate systemic quality issues to Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Hardware, and Software teams as needed
  • Support audits (internal, supplier, and regulatory) and ensure audit readiness
  • Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
