Leader of all Manufacturing areas and applicable associates, including multiple value-streams and functional machining areas. The manager is responsible for achieving Strategy Deployment and Daily Management objectives including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, support for Innovation, and associate engagement. This position is located in Simi Valley, CA. Key Accountabilities: Responsible for the Safety, Quality, Yield, Delivery, Productivity, and Inventory goal attainment. Contribute to the formulation of Strategic Objectives, provide qualitative and quantitative feedback to determine improvement targets, develop and execute action plans to support goals. In conjunction with Supply Chain, Maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering, develop optimum capacity, efficiency, and profitability through the upgrading and modernization of facilities and equipment and improvements in manufacturing systems. Manage Cost Reduction and efficiency improvements. Year on year increases in operating efficiencies to reduce overall manufacturing costs and improve gross profit. Lead Daily Management Gemba walk, provide critical feedback to improve Daily Management process and next level leadership. Lead communication efforts to ensure personnel are informed of conditions, trends, and important activities as well as daily results, quality issues and other business needs. Plan and lead continuous improvement (RBS) events. Information Reporting- Daily, weekly, and monthly information gathered and maintained as required to record results of operation. Utilize 80/20 tools & principles to reduce lead times, improve delivery and reduce costs. Drive employee development and grow cross-functional skill capabilities. Identify and lead facility safety improvement initiatives. Champion quality initiatives that support manufacturing process improvements. Provide for the optimum utilization of personnel. Ensure that areas are staffed with competent. personnel, and that potential supervisory personnel are being developed so that qualified successors are available for key positions within the organization. Actively ensure training and development of assigned personnel to maximize productivity across all production departments. Perform associate performance reviews, engage in and assist with associate relations activities, and corrective action in conjunction with Human Resources in a timely and effective manner. Experience, Capabilities and Success Factors: Four (4) year college degree in Engineering (or related technical field). MBA or technical master’s degree preferred. 7 + years' experience in lean operations, with history of progressive advancement. 5 years leadership in a machining manufacturing environment. Work experience in an aerospace manufacturing (machine shop) environment is preferred. Planning abilities and ability to exercise independent judgment on a routine/daily basis. Proven experience influencing others and developing talent. Excellent communication skills. Strong project management experience with proven results. Creative thinker, able to think strategically and execute tactically. Must be able to work as part of a team and be able to lead a team.
