About The Position

D&W Fine Pack, a Mid Oaks Investments portfolio company, provides a wide range of products serving the foodservice and food packaging industry. With eight facilities in the United States, we are well positioned to offer our customers exceptional service and support. D&W Fine Pack has an immediate opportunity for a Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic Electrician at our Lake Zurich, IL facility. In this function you will be responsible for maintaining, updating, and repairing all electrical machinery within the building.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
  • Certification as an Industrial Electrician and ability to work safely with electricity.
  • Strong mechanical skills, understand the process of electricity, blueprints/schematics, test equipment and safety near electricity.
  • Ability to communicate and understand verbal instructions, read and write work orders, read written instructions, and effectively interact with all internal departments.
  • Able to work overtime, and possible need to cover second shift as required by business conditions. Available for call-ins.
  • Must have strong mechanical skills, math skills, prioritizing, time management, project management and basic electrical training.
  • Ability to stand, sit, reach, push, pull, crouch, kneel, climb, suspend, work in standing position for extended periods of time, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in very tight spaces.
  • Visual demand and attention to detail.
  • While performing the duties of this position employee may be exposed to extreme heat, moving mechanical parts and products with sharp edges. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Responsibilities

  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools and reassemble equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blue prints, repair manuals and parts catalogs as necessary
  • Order parts, supplies and equipment
  • Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, machinery and equipment
  • Assists other workers with specific tasks as requested
  • Follow plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices, or GMP's
  • Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience
  • Works within defined processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignments
  • Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures
