Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond? Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering Manager will be responsible for supporting Engineering requirements within Operations. You'll lead a team of product & process engineers/technicians that support all aspects of production of existing designs, as well as implementing and integrating novel materials and approaches for manufacturing of Anti-scatter grids, Ceramic cores supporting turbine airfoil and component production. TOMO Direct Metal applications. This position at Mikro Systems (subsidiary of Pratt & Whitney) in Charlottesville, VA. The work associated with this position will be onsite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, business,, supply chain, or related field and 8 years of experience in engineering, supply chain or related field: or an Advanced degree with 5 years of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
  • Ceramic and metal powder experience in the production of product. Ideal applicant has experience with epoxies and molding/injection molding experience.
  • Familiar with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) tools

Responsibilities

  • Develops and improves products and facilitates manufacturing operations.
  • Identifying and implementing new manufacturing processes and associated equipment.
  • Supplying resources for addressing real time problem resolution on the shop floor.
  • Monitoring product yield and cost and driving improvements to both.
  • Supporting MRL progression of all products.
  • Supporting LRIP and transition from design and development phases into production phase.
  • Reviewing designs, drawings, and working plans to improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
  • Provides technical leadership and assists in training less experienced engineers to help them diagnose and solve problems and build capabilities.
  • Implementing process certification methodologies into all processes.
