Become a part of the “strength within.” Hexcel is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern for our Burlington, WA location. Primary recruitment is for one school quarter. The position can be extended beyond one quarter based on student availability. Hourly Wage: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

Requirements

  • Student must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or post-graduate in a Mechanical, Plastics, Composites or Manufacturing Engineering degree program (B.S. or B.A.).
  • Computer proficiency required with experience in MS Office and parametric solid modeling preferred.
  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate good organizational and communication skills.
  • Eligible candidates must be a: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Tooling and equipment design and fabrication.
  • Use of CAD/CAM using CATIA V5 and DraftSight.
  • Contributing to a transition to digital manufacturing utilizing the DELMIA Apriso MES system.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements utilizing additive manufacturing technology.
  • Participating in Lean/5S manufacturing events.
  • Collaborating with Facilities and Engineering to author equipment and process work instructions.
  • Assisting Manufacturing Engineers and CNC Programmers in performing honeycomb core materials characterization.
  • Participating in multi-disciplinary Continuous Improvement projects utilizing experimental design (DOE), data collection and statistical evaluation.
