Requirements

  • Must be an undergraduate student majoring in Mechanical Engineering
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel
  • Comfortable presenting findings and recommendations both one-on-one and in meetings
  • Mechanically inclined, technically savvy, and possess the ability to multi-task in a demanding timeline driven position
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, production documents, and engineering drawings
  • Ability to communicate professionally both inside and outside of the company by email and phone
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English
  • Visual requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience and/or knowledge of the following manufacturing processes are a plus: o Sheet metal fabrication and/or stamping o Injection Molding o Painting and plating of metal and plastic components
  • Experience designing part fixtures and facility layouts is a plus
  • Experience in SolidWorks is a plus
  • General knowledge of workplace safety, a plus

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage projects in support of the Process Improvement team
  • Lead teams to resolve production issues, focusing on increasing quality while reducing costs
  • Observe/participate in manufacturing processes and Develop work instruction documentation
  • Streamline production by optimizing facility layout, material flow and tooling requirements
  • Work closely with Engineering and Production on product launches evaluating DFMA
  • Support continuous engineering efforts by maintaining and updating CAD drawings
  • Participate in design and building of fixtures and carts to improve manufacturing processes
  • Analyze production efficiency using monitoring software
