We have an opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance Manager to join our New Brighton, MN team. You will coordinate manufacturing engineers, maintenance supervisor, and technicians, and our injection molding toolroom to develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing/maintenance processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. As well as recommend and implement improvements to production processes, cycle times, methods, and controls. Along with the coordination of manufacturing launches for new or revised products, including equipment installation, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. You will: Coordinates the efforts required to optimize the manufacturing process with an emphasis on functionality and cost efficiency through equipment modification, new equipment, and/or plant layout. Maintains current knowledge and application of regulatory compliance, industry standards, and products. Manages and forecasts space needs, improving space utilization and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, and/or workflow. Consults with internal and external stakeholders on all projects involving the design, development, installation, and repair of manufacturing equipment and are responsible for the results. Responsible for emergency management, security, and parking Directs activities of the Engineering, Facilities, and Maintenance staff. Supervises tooling operations, ensuring all work is performed accurately and according to quality and safety standards. Make recommendations about scheduled downtime of equipment that will impact on the production schedule. Oversee real estate negotiations, leases, acquisitions, and maintenance. Develops long-term financial plans, reconciles financial discrepancies, and leads cost-efficient initiatives without sacrificing quality. Assesses cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes; makes and implements recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Assists in the coordination of lean events, kaizens, cost savings flywheel, and transformation planning. Provides guidance and oversight into the development and execution of plant renovations and expansions, and coordinates outside contractors and vendors. Generates and tracks budgets, monitors expenses, labor costs, and assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, required. Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing required.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Solid understanding of key business and financial fundamentals.

  • Training and demonstration of concepts of Lean Manufacturing, preferred.
