About The Position

Manufacturing Engineer is a "hands-on" position that plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing equipment and processes to produce high quality pultruded, molded, and assembled products. The Process Engineer is responsible for coordinating all production efforts on new program launches, setting up and/or revising manufacturing processes, and assisting manufacturing operations with problem solving and continuous process improvement projects. This position also mentors and/or trains process setup technicians and factory maintenance personnel.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Engineering is required.
  • Practical work experience in a molding or pultrusion operation is required. Extensive training in similar conversion processes or assembly may be considered.
  • Strong and diverse technical background in conversion processing, tooling, equipment, and materials is preferred.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal management direction.
  • Demonstrated good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Solid CAD experience and design capability with good business computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to lead others, including indirect supervision of process technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new processes and implement technical solutions to existing processes designed to improve quality and overall equipment efficiency (OEE).
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to process technicians and other operations or maintenance personnel.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation to ensure that processes and procedures are clearly stated and understandable for all employees.
  • Provide daily technical support solutions to assorted manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to start-up, operate, and shut down process related equipment.
  • Must be able to work independently on new process development, as well as troubleshoot current production issues.
  • Work with equipment and material vendors to resolve machine and material issues.
  • Monitor and report issues with tooling and equipment, making recommendations for refurbishment or replacement based on production factors such as cycles, process capability and tool/equipment history.
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
  • Facilitate and support plant safety, environmental, and ergonomics efforts.
