About The Position

Cubic | Nuvotronics’ Operations Department is a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians who are responsible for the manufacturing of our revolutionary PolyStrata© products. As a member of our Assembly Team, you will be responsible for guiding both new and existing products through microelectronic assembly, improving and standardizing our processes, and ensuring on-time delivery. Individuals with mechanical engineering backgrounds and mechanical design experience are preferred.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or similar, plus a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an applicable master's degree.
  • Capable of operating manufacturing equipment including both complex computer-controlled machines and hand tools (often under a microscope).
  • Understanding of work measurement and standards such as statistical process controls and schedule/cost performance indicators.
  • Capable of ingesting and applying industry standards in microelectronics, including IPC and MIL (MIL-STD-883, MIL-PRF-38534, etc.).
  • Must be eligible to work in a cleared DOD facility

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in Windows-based computer programs and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Intermediate understanding of statistical software programs (JMP, etc.); familiar with engineering CAD programs for mechanical design (SolidWorks) and/or IC layout (K Layout).
  • Some experience working in a clean room environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work closely with other departments as necessary, including Engineering and Procurement.
  • Experience providing direction and training technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Designs processes, manufacturing sequences, and workflows; creates the engineering documentation required for manufacturing.
  • Implements statistical process control criteria and monitors the effectiveness of the process and product manufacturing yield and develops solutions to increase yield and reduce cost.
  • Provides production floor support, requiring hands-on work, equipment programming and operation, and/or quality inspection.
  • Has a working knowledge of the fabrication, assembly, and/or testing of PolyStrata©.
  • Is a point of contact for solving manufacturing problems internally and at our suppliers.
  • Understands the basics of RF design as it pertains to the fabrication, assembly, and/or testing of PolyStrata©.
  • Assists in the creation of new design standards, including data collection and documentation.
  • Coordinates with other teams within Operations to secure and plan resources to ensure on-time execution of hardware deliverables.
  • Works with external vendors to provide required products (new equipment, etc.) or services (calibration, etc.) to meet manufacturing needs.
  • Performs all the responsibilities above mostly independently with some general instruction.
