About The Position

As a Manufacturing Engineer in Manitowoc, WI, you will: Optimize production workflows and support new fabrication technology integration Improve throughput, quality, and consistency using hands‑on metal manufacturing experience Lead process development for laser cutting, forming, welding, and related operations Identify safety risks and implement solutions for a safe, efficient work environment Drive continuous improvement using Lean methods, data analysis, and root‑cause problem solving Support fixture design and implementation to improve repeatability and reduce cycle times Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams on technology integration and capital projects Assist with new product introductions and ensure manufacturability in metal fabrication processes Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners across southern Minnesota Contribute to projects that impact communities in Faribault, Northfield, Owatonna, Waseca, and the greater Twin Cities Apply your skills in a dynamic environment that values ownership and innovation

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering required
  • 2+ years of engineering experience in a metal fabrication environment preferred; internships and co-ops considered
  • Experience with laser cutting, CNC fabrication equipment, or sheet‑metal processes
  • Knowledge of fixture design, implementation, and optimization
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing techniques, capability studies, process mapping, FMEA, and root cause analysis
  • Capable of working independently and as a team member
  • Strong work ethic and unwavering integrity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a learning mindset
  • Curiosity, problem solving, and analytical thinking
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Desire to work on a variety of projects
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Creo and/or AutoCAD experience a strong plus
