About The Position

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for manufacturing engineering activities, corrective and preventative actions related to manufacturing non-conformances / issues, documentation, cost reduction, interface with engineering, quality, product management and, service, and training of manufacturing personnel. Supports LEAN culture focusing on standardization, quality, improved performance and increased throughput. Job duties to include but are not limited to; Evaluates, improves manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, mechanical and electrical principals to improve efficiency and reduce waste Investigate and resolve manufacturing issues as they occur. Implement, maintain, and improve current manufacturing processes, including equipment, documentation, training, gages and tooling/fixtures, to optimize quality, productivity and cost performance Participate in design review meetings, collaborating with production supervisors, manufacturing engineers, technology and programs to ensure manufacturability and scalability of EOL and new design efforts. Implement corrective actions to resolve manufacturing process problems through testing, evaluation, and analysis Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability process, prepares process FMEAs, root cause analyses, plans facility, equipment, and resource changes and initial product builds, and ensure that Manufacturing deliverables to Development Project Plans are completed and on time Plan, specify, select, validate and implement new equipment, processes and facilities in manufacturing Engage with the appropriate personnel in the identification and resolution of Corrective/Preventative actions to address Safety, Quality, Technical, and Manufacturing issues Refine, Develop & Implement current and future SOP work instructions, routings, BOM, test procedures and master process documents Ownership of transformational projects to drive clear impact to drive bottom line performance results with step-function change. Other duties assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent field)
  • 3-5 years of experience; direct manufacturing experience and Six Sigma Lean Certification preferred
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Proficient with MS Work, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Hands on experience with electro-mechanical troubleshooting to include sub- assembly level and/or electronic instruments and systems to a component level on printed circuit board assemblies a plus
  • Chemical manufacturing experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical and process or procedure writing
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Contributes to completion of milestones associated with specific projects.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extend periods; a minimum of 2 hours.
  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the office, shop, warehouse, or manufacturing plant
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
  • Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment.
  • Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives, changing priorities and reassign priorities to complete assignments.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Complete all work in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements consistent with supporting the Company’s goals.
  • Lifting guidelines in accordance with the Manual Lifting Guidelines noted in the Safety Handbook.
  • Follow all environmental requirements consistent with supporting the company’s environmental performance goals.
  • Complete, and actively participate in all other EHS training requirements.
