About The Position

Come join us! Cirris Inc, a leading manufacturer of electrical cable and harness test equipment, has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Engineer. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, improving, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role works cross-functionally with operations, quality, design engineering, and supply chain teams to support new product introductions, improve productivity, reduce costs, and resolve production issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or related field.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or process engineering.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and GD&T.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing documentation.
  • Skilled in root cause analysis and problem solving.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • Experience with automation, robotics, PLCs, or CNC equipment depending on industry.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and FMEA.
  • CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Experience in regulated environments (ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Process Development and Optimization Design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes, workflows, and production layouts.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, reduce cycle time, and improve throughput.
  • Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and line balancing to optimize labor and equipment utilization.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) Collaborate with design engineering to ensure products are optimized for manufacturability (DFM/DFx).
  • Create and maintain process documentation including work instructions, routings, SOPs, and process flow diagrams.
  • Lead pilot builds and supports transition to full production.
  • Quality & Continuous Improvement Partner with Quality to investigate production issues and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Use root-cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA, SPC) to solve manufacturing problems.
  • Conduct regular process audits to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Tooling, Equipment & Automation Specify, design, or procure fixtures, jigs, and tooling to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Evaluate and implement automation solutions where appropriate.
  • Maintain equipment documentation and support preventive maintenance activities.
  • Data, Reporting & Cost Reduction Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining product integrity and safety.
  • Assist with capital expenditure planning and justification.
  • Training & Support Train production staff on new processes, tools, and equipment.
  • Provide hands-on support to the production floor when issues arise.
