Primary Location: United States (US) - Louisiana - Thibodaux Function: Factory Engineering (CA) Title: Manufacturing Engineer - 117910 Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position Your Responsibilities As a Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere Thibodaux located in Thibodaux, Louisiana you will: Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with Factory Engineering, Operations, Material Flow Engineering, and 5S teams to ensure alignment with safety, quality, and delivery objectives Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to implementing lean principles to enhance efficiency and performance Assist with Standards and Specifications: Help draft engineering standards and evaluate their effectiveness under the guidance of senior colleagues Support Process Analysis and Improvement: Assist in analyzing information and defining methods, process steps, and equipment required to design and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes and systems Assist with Standards and Specifications: Help draft engineering standards and evaluate their effectiveness under the guidance of senior colleagues Manage Layout and Part-Level Data: Participate in projects to develop new layouts and improve existing ones to support safety, quality, and delivery goals, while ensuring accuracy of part-level data in layout and process systems to support Plan for Every Part (PFEP)—defining how each component is received, stored, packaged, and delivered Coordinate External Activities: Deliver required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers and acting as a primary point of contact while working within an established contract management plan Execute Project Tasks with Accountability: Complete tasks within established project plans, meeting timelines and objectives with accuracy and attention to detail

Requirements

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Proactive approach to implementing change and fostering a culture of innovation
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD/Creo)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation and work instructions
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or technology related field

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing or engineering
  • Experience with process improvement projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with Plan for Every Part (PFEP) and factory layout development
  • Knowledge of simulation tools or digital twin technology
  • Experience with material flow optimization and 5S implementation
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
