Join us in shaping a new era in space and find a career that's built for you. -- The Lockheed Martin Space Production Operations Team is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support production at the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, LA! The role will require you to be organized with good attention-to-detail and a self-starting approach to work activities. As the Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for translating engineering designs into actionable work instructions, and driving continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or STEM-related discipline (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
  • Previous experience with manufacturing engineering, manufacturing engineering technology, or mechanical assembly and integration
  • Experience creating and/or utilizing manufacturing work instructions and/or standard operating procedures
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of creation, edit, and/or maintenance manufacturing bills of material and manufacturing principles
  • Experience reading engineering drawings and understanding and utilizing geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Space or industry equivalent tools (ERP/SAP, EPDM, VE-CAMS, PMP Database, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Translating complex engineering blueprints and parts lists into clear, step by step work instructions for production technicians
  • Supporting root cause analysis of component nonconformances and ensuring effective corrective actions are appropriate and implemented
  • Providing technical guidance and in-person support to technicians to maximize performance and quality
