About The Position

IAG’s position for Manufacturing Engineer requires a hands-on engineer who can both execute and direct a wide range of metal fabrication and production processes. This role sits at the intersection of engineering design and manufacturing, translating product concepts into prototypes which are efficient with considerations for high-quality manufacturing solutions. The ideal candidate is technically versatile, detail-oriented, and comfortable providing clear, constructive feedback on engineering drawings and designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or related discipline).
  • Demonstrated experience in metal fabrication and product development environments.
  • Practical knowledge of laser cutting, CNC machining/programming, sheet metal fabrication, welding processes, tube bending, powder coating, and injection molding.
  • Experience reviewing and providing feedback on engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing tolerances, and surface finishes.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and create technical documentation and drawings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CAD/CAM software and CNC controllers.
  • Familiarity with GD&T standards.
  • Experience supporting both prototype and production-scale manufacturing.
  • Exposure to supplier qualification and vendor management.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design and product development teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, scalable, and cost-effective.
  • Develop, optimize, and document manufacturing processes for new products in development, with a focus on quality, cost, safety, and throughput.
  • Provide detailed feedback on engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, materials, and finishes to improve manufacturability and reduce risk.
  • Support prototype builds, pilot runs, and transition to full production.
  • Troubleshoot potential manufacturing issues, identify root causes, and implement guidance to engineering along with corrective actions.
  • Plan, execute, and/or direct manufacturing processes which include laser cutting, CNC programming and machining, sheet metal forming, welding, metal tube bending, and powder coating, along with occasional plastic injection molding.
  • Create, review, and refine work instructions, and process documentation as required.
  • Work with internal teams and external vendors as needed to achieve production timing goals.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using manufacturing and quality best practices.
