About The Position

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include , but are not limited to : Develops, modifies, and optimizes CNC programs (G-code and/or CAM-generated) for multi-axis CNC milling and turning equipment to support production and new product introduction. Selects machining strategies, tooling, fixturing, and cutting parameters to achieve optimal cycle time, part quality, and tool life. Creates, validates, and maintains CNC programs, setup sheets, and work instructions in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and revision control requirements. Leads CNC program prove-outs, first article runs, and process validations; troubleshoots machining issues related to tooling, programs, fixtures, and machine capability. Collaborates with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve nonconformances, reduce scrap and rework, and implements corrective actions. Supports continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing machining performance, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing process enhancements to improve throughput and reduce cost. Assists in the development and standardization of machining best practices, tooling libraries, and programming templates. Supports machine commissioning, capability studies, and introduction of new CNC equipment and technologies. Provides technical support and training to machinists and operators on CNC programs, setups, and process changes. Ensures all CNC programming and manufacturing processes comply with applicable quality standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Participates in engineering change activities, including evaluating manufacturability, updating documentation, and supporting implementation on the shop floor. Maintains accurate documentation within manufacturing and quality systems, including travelers, routings, and process records. Evaluates & recommends tools & equipment for the support of manufacturing. Performs root cause corrective action for the support of manufacturing. Trains and works with other engineers and planners. Prioritizes and adjusts workflow to meet customer needs. Participates and incorporates Lean Manufacturing and initiatives. Provides liaison support for production floor via work instruction and manufacturing bill of materials modifications Understands and is aware of customer schedules and current engineering resources to match the needs and delivery dates on the schedule. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience; Master's degree preferred Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on CNC programming experience required in a production machining environment. Demonstrated experience programming CNC milling and/or turning equipment, including multi-axis machines, using G-code and/or CAM software Strong proficiency with CNC programming software and tools Solid understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, fixturing, cutting parameters, and material behavior Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and revision-controlled documentation Experience supporting CNC program prove-outs, first article inspections, and ongoing production troubleshooting Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies as applied to CNC machining processes Familiarity with quality management systems and regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR, NADCAP exposure preferred) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across Engineering, Production, and Quality teams Proficient in Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems (ERP/MES exposure preferred) Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer for CNC programming, process development, and documentation Ability to stand and walk throughout the manufacturing floor for extended periods during machine prove-outs, troubleshooting, and production support Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach to access machines, fixtures, and tooling Ability to occasionally lift, push, or pull items weighing up to 25 pounds (e.g., tooling, fixtures, or components), with or without reasonable accommodation Visual acuity required to review CNC programs, engineering drawings, part features, and inspection results Manual dexterity required to operate standard office equipment and interact with machine controls and tooling Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, cutting fluids, metal chips, noise, and temperature variations Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and other protective gear as required Ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures in a regulated manufacturing environment Supervisory Responsibilities : None. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on CNC programming experience required in a production machining environment.
