About The Position

Horton, Inc. has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer to work in our Britton, SD location. This is an onsite role Monday-Friday and is in a manufacturing setting. Relocation assistance is available, if needed. Manufacturing Engineer Job Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer is accountable for solving technical problems associated with the facilities and machines used in the manufacturing process, and for developing recommendations for process improvements. With general guidance from the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer works on plans to utilize personnel, facilities, machinery and equipment to achieve the desired quality and quantity of production at the most favorable cost. Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 5 or more years of related Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Experience including designing/modifying fixtures, tooling, equipment, and automation.
  • Proficient project management skills.
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience.
  • Lean 6 Sigma methodology is critical.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. No Visa sponsorship provided now or in the future for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Minitab experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and improves production processes.
  • Assists with the preparation of cost estimates for given products by analyzing the production process and costing each step, providing information to be used by corporate engineering and sales staff for proposals and product pricing.
  • Designs the manufacturing process for new parts or products and maintains process documentation when modifications to existing process are made.
  • Provides direct problem-solving support to the production and quality functions. Provides technical guidance to Manufacturing Engineers.
