About The Position
Job Summary: The applicant, reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, will be responsible for engineering activities in support of the production targets for components, assemblies, and machines manufactured at the Technology and Manufacturing Center in Oak Ridge, TN. What You Will Be Doing: Establishes routings, processes, and procedures for fabrication, assembly, and repair of complex components Leads product launch activities Responsible for the achieving and maintaining targets for Availability, Performance, and Quality for manufacturing operations at the Technology and Manufacturing Center Supports established scopes of work for manufacturing activities Leads efforts to identify opportunities for process improvements in machining techniques, fixturing approaches, material properties, tooling/coatings, coolants/fluids choice and application techniques, and other Lean manufacturing approaches Documents potential risks or shortfalls in future state processes Leads planning and analysis activities Designs and develops manufacturing processes with a cross-functional team utilizing internal and external resources. Develops specifications for fabrication materials and equipment Leads the design for manufacturing steps in the creation, review, and approval of engineering packages to be used for fabrication Manages work to ensure that deliverables are met within schedule and budget Adheres to company policies, procedures, code of conduct, security, and environmental and safety program requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or other related engineering discipline.
- 5+ Years of manufacturing experience.
- Experience with lean manufacturing
- Experience with industry manufacturing quality systems. i.e.: NQA-1, ISO-TS, AS9001
- Experience with AIAG Core Tools
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” Clearance
- In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
- This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.
- This position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance.
- Candidates for positions requiring a security clearance are required to be tested for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR 707.4 prior to an offer of employment being made.
- In addition, once employe, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government.
- Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.

- Project Management experience
- Centrifuge manufacturing experience is a plus
- Experience with license driven safety significant parts/systems
