About The Position

Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Interface regularly with design and systems engineering teams to review product designs, providing manufacturing perspective during internal and external design reviews Collaborate with manufacturing floor personnel to implement and optimize production processes Analyze and modify engineering drawings to improve manufacturability while maintaining functional requirements and design intent Develop, document, and maintain detailed manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and assembly sequences Implement Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to reduce production costs and cycle time Lead manufacturing readiness reviews and process validation activities Identify and resolve production bottlenecks through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions Support production builds by providing technical guidance to manufacturing technicians Develop fixtures, tooling, and test equipment requirements to support manufacturing operations Participate in failure review boards and develop process improvements to prevent recurrence Support transition of new hardware designs from development to full-rate production Qualifications Qualifications BS 10-12, MS 8-10, PhD 5-7 Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred 7-10+ years of experience in spacecraft or high-reliability aerospace manufacturing engineering Demonstrated experience modifying designs to improve manufacturability Strong knowledge of spacecraft systems, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques Experience with communicating within a matrixed organization Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications Familiarity with relevant industry standards (AS9100, IPC standards, SMC-S-016, NASA GEVS) Strong documentation skills for creating clear manufacturing procedures Experience with production planning and scheduling in a complex assembly environment Equal Pay Act This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • 7-10+ years of experience in spacecraft or high-reliability aerospace manufacturing engineering
  • Demonstrated experience modifying designs to improve manufacturability
