About The Position

Raytheon-Rafael Area Protection Systems (R2S), a dynamic and fast-growing joint venture between Raytheon and Rafael, is seeking a results-driven Sr. Manager Manufacturing Engineering to support execution of major defense programs, most notably the Iron Dome AUR production, Marine Corp Medium Range Intercept (MRIC) and future Air Defense systems. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting Camden factory operations to ensure process is satisfied, and drive continuous improvements to reduce cost, defects, and production time. As a lead, you will be the process owners for the assemblies in the factory and work closely with the Execution Assurance department in ensuring requirements are implemented. This position will manage a small team of manufacturing and industrial engineers.

Requirements

  • Experience with technical procedures, specifications, standards, and other engineering and manufacturing documents.
  • Experience leading teams or projects.
  • Understanding of operations research techniques (e.g., optimization, simulation, queuing theory)
  • Familiarity with CAD and simulation tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, FlexSim
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Ability to create and interpret process maps, workflows, time studies, and value‑stream maps
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Technical problem solving.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field and 10 years of related experience. or Master’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field and 7 years of related experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Experience in a government contracting environment with DoD and non-DoD customers.
  • Experience in an energetic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, control, and continuous improvement of the manufacturing process through collaboration within a multi-disciplined team.
  • Influence factory throughput through capacity analysis, line balancing, and theory of constraint principles.
  • Develop and Implement manufacturing process control and factory performance data analysis
  • Lead improvement projects (factory layouts, ergonomics, tooling and equipment, error proofing, etc.)
  • Influence and translate engineering design requirements into manufacturing processes through work instruction generation and maintenance
  • Lead hardware defect analysis and non-conforming material disposition processes
  • Lead corrective action investigations
  • Create standard rework routers
  • Support capital project development and implementation
  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
