Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a 2026 Summer Manufacturing Engineer Intern. In this role, you will create and update work instructions from 3D models and drawings, design of tooling using 3D modeling software, and hardware evaluation verifying compliance to applicable drawing and specifications. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of aptitude in solid modeling software (ideally Solidworks or Catia), have an engineering background, and have the ability to interpret drawings. Must be a U.S. Citizen; this position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a technology or engineering-related field, such as Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering or Technology, Product or Process Engineering, Materials and Manufacturing Processes, or closely related disciplines.
  • Desire to obtain an Operations role indicated by expressing interest in ‘hands-on’ applications of engineering and manufacturing principles.
  • Understanding of modeling software and interest in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen; this position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Nice To Haves

  • Member of the SME, SAE, ASME, or other similar technical organization
  • Design, build club/project experience (i.e., SAE Formula and Baja)
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
  • Previous manufacturing/operations experience
  • Experience with SolidWorks and 3D printing technologies.
