About The Position

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods to achieve improved quality, product cost, and manufacturing efficiency. This position applies knowledge of design, materials/components, fabrication, welding and paint processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality standards. RESPONSIBILITIES: Candidate will use skills acquired through formal training/education to execute the following and related tasks in support of product development and management responsibilities. Create and improve upon production standard work practices for the equipment assembly department Lead troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues on Sherman+Reilly product within the production environment Support engineering team with new product introductions into the production environment Design and develop equipment, processes, and shop layout for maximum efficiency and flow. Partner with quality department and shop floor in quality improvements through root cause analysis and problem resolution. Recommend ways to reduce product costs and improve functionality. Actively work with design engineers and product line teams to implement design and manufacturing changes. Ensure all changes are made consistent with ergonomic and other safety standards. Train employees as needed. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or an equivalent field of Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience or education in electrical or hydraulic system troubleshooting required
  • Ability to read electrical and hydraulic system schematics
  • Ability to read and understand design drawings with geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T).
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, CAD software, SolidWorks, ERP/MRP system).
  • Effective communication/interpersonal skills are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Hydraulics, Pneumatics, or Electrical Systems certifications preferred
