We have a great opportunity for an Assembly Manufacturing Engineer to join our team! The Assembly Manufacturing Engineer is a hands-on position for executing and supporting development and manufacturing activities of focal plane array (FPA) assemblies. This position will provide guidance and leadership while working alongside the FPA production team in the cleanroom.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of basic mechanical, electrical, and optical measurements used in manufacturing
  • Strong, verbal, written and presentations skills to be used for TIS management and customers
  • Advanced computer proficiency using Microsoft Office products and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • Displays exemplary ethics, business practices
  • Works well with people
  • Works under the umbrella of company policies and procedures, especially all safety protocols
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with three (3) plus years of experience, working as a manufacturing assembly engineer or with similar skills such as precision alignment, mounting, thermal cycling, CMM
  • Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a U.S. Citizen

Responsibilities

  • Leads and works with technical staff in design, manufacturing, and technical guidance of focal plane assemblies (FPAs)
  • Analyzes designs for validity
  • Conducts and oversees in-process inspections and analyses obtained results versus specifications
  • Assembles and manufactures assemblies
  • Contributes to manufacturing troubleshooting, equipment repair and hardware rework
  • Documents and supports failure/root-cause analyses for non-conformities
  • Performs precision alignment, die attachment and CMM measurements
  • Follows work instructions and travelers for all assemblies
