A Day in the Life In this role as a Manufacturing Engineer I, you will support manufacturing operations within one of the Nathan Lane cleanrooms by working closely with manufacturing technicians, quality engineers, other manufacturing engineers, and cross‑functional partners including R&D, Strategic Sourcing, Quality, and Packaging. You will help support and maintain manufacturing processes, equipment, and layouts while gaining hands‑on experience in a regulated production environment. The Manufacturing Engineer I will assist with validation execution, process improvements, equipment implementation, and manufacturing documentation under the guidance of more senior engineers. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop foundational skills in manufacturing engineering, lean principles, and structured problem solving while supporting day‑to‑day manufacturing needs. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail‑oriented, and motivated to build a strong technical foundation in medical device manufacturing. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 0 years relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

• Internship, co‑op, or entry‑level experience in manufacturing or process engineering
• Exposure to regulated environments (GDP/GMP)
• Familiarity with validation concepts (IQ/OQ/PQ)
• Basic Lean or Six Sigma knowledge
• Experience with process documentation or process mapping
• Exposure to FMEAs, control plans, or statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Basic CAD experience (e.g., SolidWorks)
• Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems
• Interest in or exposure to the medical device industry and ISO 13485 / FDA requirements
• For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Responsibilities

• Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
• Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
• Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
• Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
• May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
• Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
• Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
• Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
• Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
