About The Position

You will execute research and development activities for products aimed at treating vascular diseases; support detailed design and testing within R&D sustaining engineering projects, ensuring product designs meet specifications, and identifying and recommending solutions for complex technical issues. Your role: Supporting Research and Development: Involve yourself in R&D activities to enhance existing products and processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and ensure the success of development programs. Design and Refinement: Engage in designing, prototyping, and refining device concepts with a focus on manufacturability. Work alongside process engineers to ensure products are optimally designed for production. Patent and Documentation Assistance: Work with patent counsel to draft invention records and support the patent submission process. Document design concepts using rapid prototyping and SolidWorks methodologies. Testing and Quality Assurance: Verify designs against functional requirements through engineering analysis and rigorous testing. Establish test methods, criteria, and equipment, conducting hands-on testing and preparing detailed reports. Supplier Management and Design Compliance: Assist in selecting external suppliers and consultants as needed. Prepare design reviews in line with regulatory and quality system standards to ensure compliance and excellence.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1+ year of professional working experience in medical device (Class II and Class III) sustaining for commercially available products preferred.
  • You have knowledge of catheter design/assembly processes (injection molded component design, extrusion, braiding, coiling, reflow, etc.)
  • Your skills include test method development and analytical ability to drive data driven decisions throughout development cycle, as well as strong technical writing ability and experience writing product requirements, specifications, test protocols, and test reports
  • You have a B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering and hands on experience with SolidWorks and Minitab.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • You’re an excellent communicator that can collaborate with cross-functional teams.
