About The Position

The Daily Wire is seeking a Managing Editor to oversee the daily operations and performance of its editorial team. Reporting to the Editor-in-Chief, this role ensures all written content meets the organization’s standards for accuracy, clarity, voice, style, and brand alignment across all publishing channels. The Managing Editor directs editorial planning, assigns and manages workloads for writers and editors, maintains quality-control systems, and ensures deadlines are consistently met. This position bridges creative, strategic, and administrative functions, driving efficient workflows, supporting staff development, and coordinating closely with cross-functional teams to execute a high-performing, mission-aligned editorial operation.

Requirements

  • Background in Film, Television, Media, Communications, Creative Writing, Journalism, or related field preferred
  • Proven leadership experience in newsroom, editorial, publishing, or content-management environments
  • Expertise in editing, story development, fact-checking, and content structuring across multiple formats. Strong command of grammar, editorial best practices, and brand voice application
  • Exceptional organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines
  • Experience managing teams, giving feedback, and developing talent
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to foster collaboration, clarity, and accountability
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with shifting priorities
  • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and editorial judgment

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day editorial operations, including assignments, editing workflows, content reviews, and publication schedules across all platforms
  • Ensure all content meets organizational standards for accuracy, voice, style, legal compliance, and brand alignment
  • Translate editorial strategy into actionable plans, priorities, and publishing calendars in partnership with the Editor-in-Chief
  • Manage, mentor, and develop editorial staff through hiring, onboarding, performance management, and ongoing coaching
  • Assign and balance workloads across writers, editors, and contractors to ensure efficient execution and consistent deadline performance
  • Oversee editing, fact-checking, approvals, and quality-control systems to maintain consistency and prevent errors
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, marketing, design, video, production, and digital teams to support integrated publishing initiatives
  • Oversee editorial resources, documentation, freelancers, and reporting while supporting data-informed editorial decision-making
