About The Position

The Managing Director, Business Development will lead efforts to expand the firm’s presence in the Endowment & Foundation segment by securing new relationships and driving strategic growth. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in institutional investment consulting, nonprofit governance, and fiduciary responsibilities, while also serving as an ambassador for the firm’s broader business lines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience
  • 10 Years of Investment Consulting or Financial Industry Experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Business Development: Develop and execute strategies to grow the firm’s client base among Endowments and Foundations. Identify and qualify high-value opportunities through networking, referrals, and industry engagement.
  • Consultative Sales: Present the firm’s investment consulting capabilities, including services such as Investment Policy Statement development, strategic asset allocation, manager due diligence, and performance monitoring. Build and maintain executive-level relationships with boards, investment committees, and senior leadership of nonprofit organizations.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams: Partner with research, operations, marketing, and client service teams to develop proposals, respond to RFPs, and deliver tailored solutions. Share market insights and client feedback to refine service offerings and enhance client experience.
  • Representation of Broader Business Lines: Act as a liaison to promote and represent the firm’s other business lines across internal stakeholders and external prospects. Identify cross-selling opportunities and ensure alignment with the firm’s overall strategic objectives.
  • Market Intelligence & Thought Leadership: Monitor trends in institutional investing, nonprofit governance, and regulatory developments impacting Endowments & Foundations. Represent the firm at conferences and industry forums, as appropriate, to strengthen brand visibility.
  • Revenue Growth: Drive achievement of sales targets and contribute to strategic growth objectives. Oversee proposal development and negotiate terms for new engagements.

  • The base salary range for this position is $102,000 – $138,000.
  • The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location.
  • Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
  • In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
