About the team and the role: eBay, Inc. seeks Manager, Strategy Development 1 in San Jose, CA What you will accomplish: Job Duties: Build and develop key performance indicators to track business performance and identify key points of leverage in the category value chain. Monitor metrics, identify and understand root causes behind the metrics movement, and prepare presentations to communicate these insights to a senior audience. Apply strategic, operational, and analytical best practices to extract and present actionable insights on what’s driving business performance in strategic categories. Support the creation of frameworks to measure category performance and in a way that directs the verticals team where to focus attention for the most leverage on business performance. Build and scale sustainable mechanisms to report results and flag important issues to internal partners and leaders. Support the development of category strategies and help identify category “must-win” initiatives, related to category assortment, pricing, marketing, on-site discovery, and conversion. Partner with verticals leaders to understand strategic priorities, drive end-to-end solution innovation across the organization, and ensure partner teams are following strategic and operational best practices. Define business objectives and measure progress in achieving results. Utilize knowledge of and experience with quantitative research, analytics, data science, management consulting, and technical languages such as, Python/R. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance. What you will bring:

Requirements

  • Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Finance, Business or a closely related field plus eight years of experience in two of the following fields: Top tier strategy consulting, Quantitative Research, Analytics, Data Science, strategy and operations.
  • Deep data analysis expertise with the ability to find the trends and implications within data to inform sound decisions (2 years)
  • Ability to design analytical solutions to complex business problems and partnering cross-functionally with peers to tailor those solutions for the greatest possible impact (2 year)
  • Demosntrated ability with Python/R programming languages and data engineering for building data-driven business solutions (2 years)
  • Synthesizing feedback from various stakeholders to align solutions, even during disagreements (2 years)
  • Communicating data-driven insights effectively to senior-level executives (1 year)
  • Building and scaling sustainable mechanisms to report business performance and identify key issues (1 year)
  • Driving end-to-end solution innovation across functional areas (1 year)
