About The Position

Join our team as a Full-Time Manager, Speech Language Pathology! UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is hiring a Manager, Speech Language Pathology to support our Main Hospital in Lawrenceville, our CHP satellite offices, and our Erie and Jameson locations. The ideal candidate has experience managing several locations, both inpatient and outpatient. This position will work daylight shifts Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited college or university
  • 5 years of experience (post clinical fellowship) in progressively responsible positions in communication disorders providing administrative coordination and oversight of staff
  • Required PA License in Speech-Language Pathology, American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC SLP)
  • Speech Pathologist
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 31, 33, 34, & 73

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the recruitment of staff speech-language pathologists.
  • Develop strategic plans for respected clinical areas.
  • Performs performance reviews and assists in clinical staff annual reviews.
  • Monitor practice operations to identify areas for improvement, expansion of services including patient safety and compliance.
  • Serve as liaison to various UPMC departments and resources.
  • Serve as liaison for renovations, construction and building utilization with UPMC and outside construction services.
  • Mentors clinical staff and is responsible for managing clinical services.
  • Review and evaluate the effectiveness of current departmental policies and procedures and plans with site coordinator and/or site clinical lead.
  • Ensure appropriate and high-quality staffing through strategic placement of office coordinators etc.
  • Monitors patient and outpatient scheduling with support staff and clinical staff to ensure optimal caseload based on use of space, time, and need.
  • Develops and implements quality assurance activities for clinical services and initiates mechanisms for measurement.
  • Supervises and oversees operating and capital budgets for clinical sites
  • Responsible for the day-to-day clinical administrative activities of speech-language pathology staff.
