About The Position

Under the general direction of the Senior Manager, Signs & Markings, plans, organize, directs, supervises and coordinates the activities and personnel, including contractors and Board staff, in the Energy Transportation and Asset Management Department. Responsible for the development and planning for all in-sourced and/or out-sourced repair, maintenance, cleaning, public works-related infrastructure maintenance and security activities in the business unit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five (5) plus years of experience in infrastructure management services.
  • Two (2) plus years of direct management experience.
  • FAA Part 139 Training Certification
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of the principles of technical leadership and management.
  • Strong understanding of FAA regulations and airfield marking standards
  • Expertise in planning and managing maintenance programs for airfield infrastructure.
  • Skill in planning, organizing and directing the work of employees engaged in day-to-day operations in an infrastructure maintenance program.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective administrative supervision procedures and general working relationships with department heads, employees, contractors and the public.
  • Ability to interpret technical plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to prepare preliminary budgets and repair/construction estimates.
  • Ability to apply critical attitude in the inspection and evaluation of work completed and in progress.
  • Ability to establish and maintain efficient working relationships among subordinates.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer to both record and analyze data related to infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to speak in public.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Airport systems, including Airfield Lighting, Landside Exterior/Garage Lighting, Emergency Power Systems, Gate Controllers, Switchgear, and both Airfield and Landside Signs and Markings.
  • Advanced degree in engineering management or business administration.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for airfield signs and markings in alignment with airport safety and operational goals.
  • Plan and manage routine and long-term maintenance, repair, and modernization projects for airfield signage and pavement markings.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA standards, airport design criteria, and regulatory requirements for airfield markings and signage.
  • Oversee contractor performance, budgets, and resource allocation to maintain cost efficiency and service reliability.
  • Establish and enforce policies, procedures, and performance metrics to drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and supervise staff and contractors in inspection, maintenance, and repair activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert for airfield signage and markings, providing guidance during design reviews and operational planning.
  • Manage procurement processes, including contracts development, contract administration, quality assurance of deliverables.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address operational needs, resolve issues, and enhance service delivery.
  • Manage employee performance and accountability, conducting evaluations, maintaining operational and production records, and addressing performance or conduct issues in accordance with policy.
  • Coach and develop team members, identify training needs, and foster a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
