About The Position

The Manager, Security Operations for Private Destinations and Beach Clubs is a strategic leader responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive security programs across all Royal Caribbean Group’s Private Destinations (PD). This includes, but is not limited to, Royal Caribbean brand Private Destinations and Royal Beach Clubs (RBC), Celebrity Cruises Private Destinations and private beach clubs, as well as Silversea Hotels and Private Destinations. The position provides expert guidance on port security operations and site security for both Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) areas, including employee accommodations. Additionally, the Manager directs administrative functions within security sections, driving operational excellence and risk mitigation. Acting as the primary liaison with local authorities and internal stakeholders, this role ensures a secure, seamless experience aligned with Royal Caribbean’s brand promise. The Manager, Security Operations for Private Destinations and Beach Clubs will lead a team of 10 site managers overseeing local guard forces ranging from 20 to 200 individuals per site worldwide. This requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage complex, multi-site operations effectively. This role ensures full compliance with the ISPS Code (where applicable), local regulatory requirements, CVSSA, and corporate security standards, safeguarding guests, employees, and assets.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Industrial Security, International Business, Criminology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years in maritime security operations and large-scale resort management, with international operational experience required. Law enforcement or counter-terrorism tactical expertise within maritime or aviation sectors is highly desirable.
  • Certifications: ISPS, SSO, CSO, and PFSO certifications are mandatory.
  • Additional Experience: Background in aviation or maritime industries will be considered an advantage. Experience working abroad in a multi-culturally diverse environment.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required, while in addition, Spanish, French and Greek are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Comprehensive Security Programs - Direct and oversee security operations, including Royal Caribbean Group (RCG) or vendor guard forces, across all Royal Caribbean Group Private Destinations (PD), Royal Beach Clubs (RBC), and associated port facilities.

  • Represent the Organization with Key StakeholdersServe as the primary liaison in high-level engagements with security organizations, vendors, consultants, government agencies, port authorities, and local law enforcement.
  • Shape Corporate Security Policy and Audit ProgramsCollaborate with corporate security leadership to formulate policies governing port and pier security at Private Destinations. Develop and implement robust site security audit programs to ensure adherence to global security standards.
  • Manage Security Documentation and Compliance SystemsAct as the principal editor for the security section of the Safety Management System, ensuring timely updates, new development initiatives, and rigorous audit processes.
  • Provide Strategic Leadership and Team DevelopmentLead and empower a global security team across all Private Destinations and Royal Beach Clubs. Cultivate a high-performance culture focused on accountability, ownership, collaboration, and operational excellence. Drive professional growth through structured training, mentorship, and succession planning, ensuring the team remains agile, skilled, and aligned with corporate security standards and organizational objectives.
  • Partner with Human Resources on Talent StrategyWork closely with HR and HR Business Partners to evaluate, recruit, and assign security personnel for PD and RBC sites. Provide strategic input on workforce planning and succession programs for global security teams.
  • Develop Long-Term Security StrategiesContribute to the creation of forward-looking security objectives and strategic plans that align with organizational growth and evolving global security challenges.
  • Oversee Security Technology and InfrastructureServe as the primary point of contact for technical superintendents on security equipment matters, including CCTV operations, maintenance, and system enhancements. Lead the implementation of advanced security technologies during new builds and special projects.
  • Support Site Security OperationsProvide expert guidance and resources to site security teams, including equipment management, training programs, certification processes, and operational best practices.
  • Lead Global Security Talent DevelopmentDesign and implement comprehensive recruiting, training, and succession planning initiatives for all site security personnel, ensuring a pipeline of skilled professionals.
  • Lead Global Security Investigations On-SiteAct as the shoreside point of contact for all PD/RBC internal investigations involving crew or guests, in alignment with Global Security policies and utilizing the GSIMS system.
  • Manage Special Projects and New BuildsOversee planning and execution of security systems for new destinations and major projects, including port security assessments and development of port security plans.
  • Manage Security VendorsServe as the primary point of contact for local security vendors regarding all aspects of contracts, personnel, equipment, planning, and execution.
  • Travel RequirementsMaintain flexibility for global travel, typically ranging from 15 to 30 days per itinerary, to support operational oversight and strategic initiatives.
