About The Position

We are seeking a motivated individual to join Carrier’s Corporate Controller’s team as the Manager of SEC Reporting. This position is an individual contributor role responsible for the preparation and submission of accurate, timely and compliant SEC filings including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and other related filings. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented accounting professional with proven knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations and public company reporting requirements. Strong cross-functional problem solving and communication skills are required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance / Business Administration, (with a concentration in accounting), with 5+ years accounting experience and 2+ years of financial reporting, OR Master’s Degree in Accounting, with 3+ years accounting experience and 2+ years of financial reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations
  • Proficiency with Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Workiva a plus
  • Strong communication skills with the demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of staff and management
  • Ability to work independently, self-starter, taking initiative for improvements
  • Ability to handle confidential material related to company financial results and disseminate such information with appropriate discretion
  • Strong attention to details

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of SEC filings for the quarterly and annual financial results of Carrier in accordance with GAAP and SEC filing requirements (Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements and other required documents)
  • Review and provide input into the investor relations function for earnings release presentations and non-GAAP reporting
  • Assist Legal Department with Proxy and other periodic Form 8-K filings
  • Monitor and interpret changes in SEC regulations and accounting standards, communicating relevant updates to stakeholders and implementing necessary changes in reporting processes
  • Assist with technical accounting research and preparation of technical memos as needed
  • Collaborate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits, ensuring timely resolution of issues
  • Support consolidations and month-end close processes as needed including preparation of monthly GAAP cash flow statement
  • Support a variety of special projects in support of senior management, compliance activities, M&A activities or consolidations function
  • Facilitate continuous improvement in reporting processes, systems and internal controls
