The Opportunity: Factorial is seeking a Director, SEC Reporting to join our team in our Billerica location. This person will be responsible for preparing and/or reviewing quarterly and annual SEC filings, Form 8-K filings, quarterly earnings releases, assisting in preparation or review of iXBRL tagging, the annual proxy filing, and other SEC registration filings. The position will research new accounting pronouncements, policies, and SEC regulations, and will play a role in assisting with accounting policy implementation projects, gathering information for external audits and reviews, and other ad hoc projects. The ideal candidate is a CPA with prior experience in public accounting and in-house reporting experience. The role is part of a fast-paced team that focuses on providing accurate financial information for internal and external use in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation
  • 8+ years of related accounting/finance experience
  • Public accounting experience and, ideally, in-house reporting experience
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC rules, and SOX 404 requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Experience with Workiva, ActiveDisclosure, or similar SEC filing tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the drafting, review, and timely submission of quarterly and annual SEC filings, earnings materials, and related disclosures;
  • Analyze quarterly and year-to-date fluctuations in income and balance sheet accounts for consideration in earnings releases;
  • Coordinate with external auditors, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders to support financial reporting and disclosure requirements;
  • Research new accounting and disclosure requirements, drafting technical memos as needed;
  • Support the preparation of earnings releases, investor presentations, and other public disclosures;
  • Participate in ad hoc financial projects and systems improvement.
