About The Position

Capital One's Business Cards & Payments Team is looking for a driven, results-oriented Manager to lead a new, high-performing Sales Development Representative (SDR) Team. This role is crucial for our growth strategy, as you will be responsible for coaching, enabling, and scaling the engine that drives new business leads for our card and payment solutions. You won't just lead a team; you'll be the primary architect of the SDR pipeline, ensuring consistency, quality, and velocity. The ideal candidate is an inspirational coach and a strategic thinker who can turn data insights into actionable training and process improvements.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in Sales Acquisition or Business Development.
  • At least 2 years of direct experience managing, coaching OR leading a Sales Development Representative (SDR) or inside sales team
  • At least 2 years of experience meeting sales team quotas and growing pipeline through prospecting
  • At least 2 years of experience using CRM software (such as Salesforce) for pipeline management, reporting, and coaching.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience.
  • Experience in the financial services, commercial banking, or payments industry, with a focus in business-to-business (B2B) card products.
  • Experience operating in a rapidly changing environment, adapting and developing training content quickly to reflect new product or market dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of co-located SDRs, fostering a positive, high-energy, and achievement-focused sales culture.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 coaching sessions, call shadowing, and sales training to continuously improve the team's prospecting, cold-calling, and qualification skills.
  • Own the full hiring and onboarding process for new SDR talent, ensuring rapid speed-to-productivity while maintaining Capital One's hiring standards.
  • Set clear, measurable team and individual goals, track performance against key metrics (e.g., call volume, qualification rate, appointments set), and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee the entire top-of-funnel process, ensuring the SDR team is efficiently identifying, engaging, and qualifying leads for the Relationship Manager (RM) team.
  • Partner with Field Strategy to continuously refine prospecting strategies, target audience profiles, cold-calling scripts, and qualification criteria to maximize conversion rates.
  • Work closely with the Field Sales leadership team to ensure the quality and readiness of handed-off appointments, maintaining a seamless and productive partnership.
