About The Position

The tradition of caring that culminated in the establishment of Corona Regional Medical Center® began in 1965, with the founding of Corona Community Hospital. Since that time the hospital has changed to meet the needs of the rapidly growing community. Corona Community Hospital merged with Circle City Medical Center in 1992 and the resulting entity became Corona Regional Medical Center. The merged hospitals are now a 238-bed community hospital network comprised of a 160-bed acute care hospital and a 78-bed rehabilitation campus. It is certified by The Joint Commission, employs more than 1,250 trained healthcare workers and has a medical staff of approximately 347 physicians representing more than 40 specialties. The Manager of Risk Management is as a key member of the CRMC leadership team and will be responsible for leading our hospitals Patient Safety-Risk Management Plan. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in related field
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in healthcare risk management.
  • Minimum 3 years leadership experience in related field required, acute care experience
  • In-depth knowledge of risk management processes including risk identification, risk reduction, mitigation, claims management, and contract review
  • Knowledge of the Joint Commission Standards, Centers of Medicare Conditions of Participation, California acute care regulations, and the functions of the California Department of Public Health. Ability to respond and develop plans of correction/evidence to regulatory agencies preferred
  • California license in field of specialty, as applicable. Registered Nurse highly preferred.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM), Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, regulatory or accreditation requirements.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to calculate figures and percentages.
  • Ability to work with statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with the The Joint Commission and Title 22 standards and guidelines.
