This job works collaboratively to ensure facilities achieve their Revenue Cycle key performance metrics and actively identifies trends and escalates issues as appropriate. This job provides strategic direction to facilitate maximization of clinical revenue and oversee the revenue cycle activities associated with assigned clinical areas; independently makes decisions that could seriously affect the overall division and/or company’s financial objectives, performance objectives and strategic results; and develops and assumes accountability for the budget for Department or multiple functional areas. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 7 years of Revenue Cycle operations experience with specific focus in reimbursement Inpatient and Outpatient Managed Care and Commercial payors, Medicare and state/regional Medicaid programs OR 3 years of Revenue Cycle operations experience with specific focus in reimbursement Inpatient and Outpatient Managed Care and Commercial payors, Medicare and state/regional Medicaid programs with a Bachelor’s Degree in Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Health Administration or related field
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Epic and the processes that impact revenue cycle performance and capabilities.
  • Analytical skills to work in a data-heavy environment and to identify trends in the data.
  • Ability to work extended hours as required.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule as needed.
  • Ability to travel domestically as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Health Administration
  • Additional degrees, business training experience and/or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications
  • Strong financial background or Masters of Business Administration (MBA) may be substituted for half of the required Revenue Cycle experience
  • Experience in a multi-facility health system

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and resolves issues related to Revenue Cycle processes.
  • Supervises, trains and develops department staff.
  • Assists with attainment of Revenue Cycle goals and Key Indicators.
  • Attends various operations/revenue cycle meetings to assist with root cause analysis and mitigation strategies for issues.
  • Other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
