Job Posting ExternalJob Duties: Operations Support & Supplier Replenishment Strategy – Serve as a liaison with Manufacturing to align Purchasing resources with operational strategies. Improve purchased material availability through effective replenishment strategies. Monitor, contain, and communicate supplier quality and delivery issues to mitigate manufacturing risk. Support cost reduction, quality improvements, and lean initiatives. Collaborate with Production Control, U.S. Subsidiaries, and Master Scheduling to improve planning policies, procedures, and systems. Develop and manage replenishment policies that balance inventory availability, investment, obsolescence, supplier risk, and lead times. Partner with Continuous Improvement to review workflow quantities and with Master Scheduling to align ordering and forecasting. Implement effective supplier communication of orders and forecasts. Manage the Operational Purchasing Group and coordinate with Sourcing to improve supplier performance. Planning, Ordering & Expediting – Lead Operational Purchasing to ensure timely supply of materials, components, services, and assemblies for manufacturing and customer orders. Monitor quality and delivery, directing resources to mitigate operational and shipment risks. Develop and train the team in professional planning, ordering, and expediting practices. Collaborate with Customer Service and Master Scheduling to support service programs while managing inventory cost and risk. Inventory & Obsolescence Management – Ensure inventory is managed to minimize investment and obsolescence. Enforce proper purchasing authority and sound business practices. Analyze obsolescence risk and work with Accounting to establish financial reserves. Coordinate with Operational and Strategic Purchasing to disposition obsolete material cost-effectively. Develop performance metrics, policies, and procedures to ensure industry-leading practices. Partner with Production Control and Engineering to reduce inventory exposure from Engineering Orders. Miscellaneous – Participate in and lead meetings related to materials and purchasing. Support other Supply Chain and operational functions as needed. Work with Logistics to develop cost-effective transportation strategies and monitor international inbound freight performance. Perform other duties as assigned. Employee Development – Create and revise job descriptions, conduct talent development discussions, evaluate performance, set and track goals, and complete annual wage reviews. Coach, mentor, motivate, and develop direct reports.
