About The Position

This role, on the Strategic Programs and Portfolio Integration team within Navy Programs, will lead build strategy and construction-related strategic initiatives under two main lines of effort:   Future submarine program build strategy (SSN(X), Undersea Warfare, Future Virginia Class Develop innovative strategies to modify overall submarine and module assembly plans, arrangements, and designs to reduce schedule and cost Work with external partners to introduce new technologies to enable alternative build strategies Own construction-related tasking on SSN(X) and Virginia Class future propulsion plant designs Support "design for producibility" efforts across all system and component designs on future submarine programs Develop build strategy, investment, and partnership plans to support Independent Virginia Class Submarine build strategy   Shipyard Throughput Strategy Program lead for partnerships to introduce new technologies into the shipyard or develop capabilities at external partners Coordinate construction input into strategic investments (e.g., facility designs, technology investments) Lead diagnostic analysis to identify current constraints and potential solutions to increase throughput

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; Master's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in ship construction, advanced manufacturing, or engineering.

Responsibilities
