About The Position

The Manager, Programming & Playout Operations oversees scheduling, playlist execution, and playout operations for FAST channels. This role ensures accurate, continuous stream delivery, alignment with content strategy, and readiness of all assets. The Manager leads a cross-functional operations team and and plays a key role in optimizing workflows, supporting live/breaking content, maintaining data integrity, and ensuring effective ad delivery

Requirements

  • 7+ years in streaming, broadcast, or FAST channel operations.
  • Leadership experience managing scheduling and/or playout teams.
  • Strong knowledge of playlisting, playout systems, and ad-supported streaming workflows.
  • Experience with content vetting, rights management, and compliance.
  • Familiarity with ad servers, SCTE markers, and ad insertion workflows.
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced, live environments with high attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage live and time-sensitive programming with accuracy and composure.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage schedulers, supervisors, and playout operators to ensure seamless 24/7 channel operations.
  • Oversee program schedules and playlists, ensuring accuracy, strategic alignment, and timely updates.
  • Monitor stream performance and ensure rapid response to playout issues or breaking news needs.
  • Vet and approve content to ensure it meets brand standards, rights restrictions, and technical requirements.
  • Track and coordinate all programming assets to ensure availability for scheduled playout.
  • Maintain accurate program metadata, logs, and scheduling data across systems.
  • Support ad server operations, including coordination of ad breaks, validation of timing and metadata, and troubleshooting issues impacting ad delivery and monetization.
  • Partner with programming, ad ops, marketing, and content teams to align scheduling with monetization and promotional strategies.
  • Drive workflow improvements, system enhancements, and operational efficiency across FAST channel operations
  • Collaborate with content, production, and media management teams to resolve missing or incomplete assets.
