About The Position

With its A.I.-powered robotic technology platform, Symbotic is changing the way consumer goods move through the supply chain. Intelligent software orchestrates advanced robots in a high-density, end-to-end system – reinventing warehouse automation for increased efficiency, speed and flexibility. Symbotic is seeking an experienced and highly responsive Manager, Procurement to support the rapid procurement and delivery of critical materials required to resolve urgent, unplanned project needs at customer sites. This role is responsible for ensuring critical material requirements are fulfilled quickly and efficiently after project receipt at site, minimizing schedule disruption and maintaining continuity of installation and commissioning activities. The Production Control team manages project-based planning and material execution for complex, customer-specific automation systems. This group oversees material coordination, supply execution, and logistics alignment to ensure materials and equipment are available when and where needed to support installation and commissioning. Production Control works closely with other Supply Chain teams, including Sourcing, Procurement, and Supplier partners, to align demand, supply, and execution across large-scale customer projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in procurement, materials management, or supply chain roles.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience leading and developing a team and participating in succession planning.
  • Demonstrated experience executing urgent, high-priority procurement activities under tight deadlines.
  • Strong working knowledge of sourcing execution, supplier coordination, and logistics management.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems and procurement tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to travel to supplier and project sites as required.
  • Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the planning, sourcing, and fulfillment of critical material requirements driven by urgent site-level project needs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for site-driven material escalations and unplanned requests.
  • Execute rapid-response procurement activities to secure critical materials within compressed timelines.
  • Partner closely with project management, engineering, and site leadership to understand critical requirements, specifications, and delivery constraints.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, freight providers, and logistics partners to expedite deliveries while ensuring quality and contractual compliance.
  • Track critical material orders end-to-end, from initiation through delivery, providing frequent status updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Utilize established supplier agreements and escalation paths to support accelerated lead times and issue resolution.
  • Identify risks related to supply disruption and support mitigation actions to protect project schedules.
  • Analyze critical material spend and recurring demand drivers; provide insights to senior leadership on trends, root causes, and supplier performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce response time, improve reliability, and limit repeat critical material demand.
