The BIT Manager for Post Production Technology is a technical management position responsible for managing the Atlanta, New York and Washington DC based Post Production engineering Tier 2 team. Their function is to empower their team in order to support the customers and underlying technology for the Post Production systems for News and Sports across WBD. They implement the tactical and day to day goals for the department, with input on the strategic and long term goals for the department. They manage a team of 12+ direct and indirect reports composed of supervisors, technical leads and engineers. This position has 24x7 responsibilities domestically and requires a broad understanding of post-production, broadcast, IT systems, ITIL practices, strong communication skills and employee development. BIT Managers work closely with their counterparts in other cities to create practical support and escalation plans, create institutional documentation, and provide engineering assistance to meet new business needs. They maintain close working relationships with key management partners and customers to ensure business service level agreements are maintained and resources are deployed judiciously. BIT Managers are expected to recruit, develop, coach, and lead the team successfully. They must be highly motivated, proven team leaders capable of working with executives, vendors and colleagues across disciplines. They maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners, including editorial, technical, 3rd party support teams, IT and technical operations, maintaining content and support services for post production use. They support all WBD sports and news brands and are expected to interface with other divisions to develop support and escalation plans and seek out opportunities to streamline, standardize and document production workflows. Exceptional client relationship building and willingness to maintain a flexible schedule in support of production changes are necessary. You will manage your staff to drive innovation and technology change management, set work priorities for yourself and staff, negotiate and influence desired outcomes, and remove hurdles impeding progress on projects and problems.
