About The Position

The Population Health Project Manager under the direction of the Deputy Director of Career and Community Advancement, will be responsible for end-to-end management of projects and initiatives under the department portfolio. The manager will be a key cross-functional collaborator to our member volunteer led and staff led groups focused on the department portfolio. The manager will also work closely with others in the department on collaborative internal and external projects with peer organizations. The manager provides full-scope support to projects ensuring high-quality deliverables that achieve and enhance the mission of ASH initiatives across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
  • Familiarity with issues related to groups underrepresented in medicine/biomedical research, health disparities, or health equity.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to think analytically.
  • Exercises high ethical standards and a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to use computers, telephones, and other office equipment.
  • May require some out-of-town work travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of professional associations, especially medical societies, is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages projects, operational objectives, process improvement initiatives, and administrative goals under guidance of Deputy Director.
  • Manages the reporting and data function to include program and project reports, dashboard maintenance, and project tracking, providing team members with clear milestone plans that deliver projects on time and with demonstrated expertise.
  • Manages the full life cycle of multiple projects including shared drive management and document/template creation.
  • Organizes & helps facilitate relevant meetings - generate meeting content, agenda-setting, etc.
  • Works creatively and analytically to problem solve challenges associated with dynamically changing plans and objectives.
  • Ensures work of the department is strategically aligned with a focus on innovation and creativity that encompasses and supports collaboration and fosters achievement among the team.
  • Manages the day-to-day activities including updates of slide decks, data-driven stories, visualizations, presentations, infographics for committee presentations and other internal/external presentations as needed.
  • Devises processes to revise, create and maintain communication materials to support department initiatives.
  • Leads website content creation and maintenance coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintains pulse of relevant projects across ASH and assists colleagues with project implementation as needed.
  • Understands and implements changes that ensure functional business acumen that aligns with the association sector.
  • Leverages data and technology to identify, utilize and present data in a way that facilitates decision-making.
  • Communicates effectively to all levels within the organization both verbally and in written correspondence.
  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate with a diverse group of colleagues and volunteers from various backgrounds.
