About The Position

Reporting to the VP Operations and Planning, you will provide overall leadership for plant operations, including production efficiency, product quality/food safety, regulatory compliance, physical asset management, supply chain effectiveness, cost control, workplace safety, security and health, community and employee relations, and human capital development. You will lead the plant culture and the change processes needed to implement Conagra Performance Systems and promote zero losses. A Taste of Your Responsibilities: Develop plant‑specific strategic vision and goals to support continuous improvement and alignment with the broader enterprise vision and mission. Promote employee engagement and development to enhance safety, quality and productivity. Provide direct oversight for the operations management team, including production, engineering, maintenance, planning, procurement, quality, safety and logistics, with partnership across finance and human resources. Provide leadership in assessing and strengthening plant capabilities. Manage the facility budget, including capital expenditures and overall cost management. Ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA, EPA, USDA, FLSA, EEO, OFCCP, Kosher and NLRB requirements. Ensure that all food safety and product quality standards, specifications and policies are upheld, while driving continuous manufacturing improvements and collaborating with Research and Development on product development. Foster a culture of openness and involvement, encouraging team members to contribute ideas and engage in performance improvement. Provide leadership for diversity initiatives and positive community engagement. Cultivate a culture of employee and product safety and reinforce all critical aspects of plant performance. Collaborate with Human Resources and functional leaders to create effective employee relations processes and develop managers to maintain a positive working environment and support the labor relations philosophy. Strengthen collaboration with Research and Development and Marketing on new product development to ensure plant capabilities and production feasibility are understood and addressed. Serve as the business and manufacturing liaison for a substantial contract manufacturing business, directly managing customer relationships and contract administration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, Food Science, Management or Operations.
  • Seven or more years of manufacturing experience.
  • Four or more years of significant leadership experience in a plant environment.
  • Experience with multiple pillars of Total Productive Maintenance, including Leadership, Organization Capability, Focused Improvement, Progressive Maintenance, Autonomous Maintenance, Early Management, Supply Chain, Quality and Safety.
  • Manufacturing experience in the Food, Beverages, Chemical or related industries.
  • Change management skills.
  • Background in food safety.
  • USDA experience.
  • Union experience.
