In this role, you will serve as the operational backbone of the People function, owning the design, execution, and continuous improvement of employee lifecycle processes in a fast-growing healthcare environment. You will ensure operational excellence, compliance, and a consistent team member experience across multi-state operations, with a strong focus on California regulations. Partnering closely with leadership, clinical teams, and external vendors, you will build scalable systems that support growth while maintaining rigor and quality. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in People Operations or HR roles within fast-growing, regulated environments, ideally in healthcare.
  • Deep knowledge of California and multi-state employment law, including wage and hour, leaves, and compliance standards.
  • Proven experience designing and scaling people operations processes and employee lifecycle programs.
  • Strong data analytics and reporting skills using modern HR systems and tools.
  • Hands-on experience with HR platforms such as Rippling, Greenhouse Onboarding, and PEO partnerships.
  • Experience owning end-to-end benefits administration and open enrollment processes.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, execution, and continuous improvement of core people operations processes across onboarding, offboarding, job changes, and the full employee lifecycle.
  • Build scalable frameworks and workflows to support rapid organizational growth in a multi-state healthcare environment.
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop people operations strategies that ensure compliance, data integrity, and operational excellence.
  • Own policy development, audit readiness, and compliance governance, with a strong emphasis on California employment regulations.
  • Manage external vendors, including benefits administrators, leave-of-absence providers, transportation partners, and home care agencies.
  • Lead annual benefits open enrollment, including communication planning, system readiness, compliance execution, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Monitor evolving employment laws and recommend policy updates to ensure continuous compliance.
  • Oversee the People Operations calendar to drive timely execution of critical programs and milestones.
  • Support compensation and total rewards initiatives, including pay range maintenance, career frameworks, and system implementations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, resolving complex questions related to policies, benefits, and employment practices.
