Vision: Be the first choice for healthcare and employment within our community  Mission: Deliver compassionate and convenient care to the highest level of excellence that promotes lifelong health and wellness for our community GENERAL SUMMARY: Manage the Medical Center Billing Department and is responsible for the orientation, evaluation and ongoing supervision of the Billing staff; maintains all third party billing policies, and coordinates policies with other Medical Center departments.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the ability to cope with and manage the pace of change within the organization and work with the other Revenue Cycle Departments to help staff adjust to and manage the change process.
  • Participate in planning and support the strategic plan of the Medical Center by aligning department goals and activities with the organization’s strategic direction, ensuring that goals and direction are communicated to staff and that staff understands their role in achieving goals.
  • For the patient accounting department: Organize, manage and coordinate staff and structure including the hiring, supervision, development and evaluation of staff, coordinate the allocation of human resources to ensure quality services and promote positive employee relations.
  • Successfully manage the patient accounting department by developing and adhering to realistic operating budgets, developing productivity targets, compiling departmental statistics, establish and update policies and procedures, evaluate work processes and surface creative process improvements to enhance customer satisfaction and/or increase efficiency.
  • Demonstrates and understands role in the Corporate Compliance program and reports occurrences which may be interpreted as non-compliant to supervisor and/or Corporate Compliance Officer according to the FTMC compliance plan.
  • Maintains extensive knowledge of third-party billing rules. Monitors payers for compliance with contract terms and conditions. Informs relevant departments of coverage issues. Work with payers to resolve claim issues and denials.
  • Monitors and maintains systems utilized in electronic claims processing. Manage relationships with various vendors integrated within the revenue cycle. Evaluate performance and make recommendations for change when necessary regarding same. Current examples include Medalist Management, RMS, and Quadax.
