Note: benefits eligibility may be based on employment status, tenure, location, or other factors Classification: salaried, exempt Location: Denton, TX Schedule: Day shift, with some overlapping coverage required as operations scale Job Summary: The Operations Manager is accountable for the performance of assigned production areas within shelter assembly and test operations. This role owns day-to-day execution, labor deployment, and adherence to standard work while partnering with peer Supervisors to deliver overall site objectives. The Operations Manager ensures consistent application of safety and quality standards, and translates production demand into effective staffing and execution plans. This role partners closely with Director, Program Delivery and other functions to implement process improvements, stabilize operations, and sustain performance in a dynamic, hourly-driven environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing or production operations, including leadership at scale.
• 3+ years of experience managing supervisors or managers in a high-volume environment.
• Demonstrated experience running large hourly workforces and meeting aggressive production targets.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, labor planning, and performance management.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in cabinet build, electromechanical assembly, or network equipment operations.
• Familiarity with fiber optic handling, inspection, and cleaning processes.
• Experience scaling operations to 400+ hourly associates.
• Experience partnering with Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering teams.
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Own overall operational performance for shelter assembly, cable assembly, and network testing functions.
• Deliver weekly production commitments while maintaining safety, quality, and cost targets.
• Lead and develop Assembly Leads, ensuring consistent execution, accountability, and floor presence.
• Establish and maintain labor strategies aligned to production volume, skill mix, and peak demand.
• Ensure standardized work, quality controls, and fiber inspection and cleaning processes are consistently executed.
• Partner cross-functionally with internal teams and the customer to implement workspace designs, labor models, and productivity improvements.
• Drive reduction in labor hours per cabinet through process discipline, staffing optimization, and selective automation.
• Set and review KPIs related to throughput, labor efficiency, quality, rework, safety, and staffing stability.
• Identify operational risks and constraints and lead corrective actions.
• Own escalation and resolution of performance, attendance, and employee relations issues in partnership with HR.
• Support onboarding, training, and capability development across the operation.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and reinforce a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
